Drake “doesn’t even want” his Grammys this year

Rapper-singer Drake has questioned the Recording Academy’s decision to classify Hotline bling under the rap category at the 2017 Grammy awards.

The 30-year-old recently appeared on an episode of a radio show for an interview that highlighted his struggles to be taken seriously as a black Canadian artist covering multiple genres.

"I won two honors (Grammys this year), yet I don't need them since it just feels peculiar for reasons unknown. It simply doesn't feel appropriate to me. I feel practically distanced, or (like they're) attempting to deliberately estrange me by making me win rap grants or conciliate me by giving me something and placing me in that class since it's the main place where you can make sense of where to put me," he said.

"I feel like an untouchable, it's generally in light of the fact that I'm not American. That is the point at which I feel like individuals are against me," he said.

"I figure perhaps it has something to do with the way that I have a significant varied make-up. I am blended, I am Jewish… by the day's end, with regards to everything else, I'm dark."

He said that Hotline bling, which won Grammys not long ago, is not a rap tune.

"I am alluded to as a dark craftsman, as at (the Grammys), I'm a dark craftsman… I'm clearly a rapper, despite the fact that Hotline bling is not a rap tune. The main classification they can figure out how to fit me in will be in a rap class, possibly on the grounds that I've rapped in the past or in light of the fact that I'm dark. I can't make sense of why."

In spite of the fact that he voiced support for Chance the Rapper's triumph among the Best New Artist set, Drake likewise contemplated the exclusion of his 2016 hit One move from the yield of Record of the Year candidates.

"There's pop commitments they have, and I fluked out. I fluked out and got one of the greatest tunes of the year that is a pop melody and I'm pleased with that. I cherish the rap world and I adore the rap group… I compose pop melodies which is as it should be. I need to resemble Michael Jackson."

"I need to resemble specialists that I turned upward to. Those are pop tunes, yet I never get any acknowledgment for that," he said.
